Approximately one hundred thousand anti-Bush anti-war protesters took over the streets of downtown Washington, DC this afternoon [October 25, 2003] in the largest gathering of people in that beleaguered city since the U.S. invaded Iraq. There were no arrests.
As is his custom, George Bush fled the city hours before the people arrived, hiding out at Camp David until it was safe to return.
As is their custom, the American media did its best to hide the truth. WTOP, the local all-news radio station, lead their "coverage" by announcing that pro and anti-war demonstrators had descended on the city. By giving the four pro-Bush demonstrators, who held up signs saying, "God hates abortionists, protesters, and homosexuals" equal coverage to the 100,000 patriots, the station endeared itself to the Republican corporation that controls its pursestrings and its content.
Just to be on the safe side, the WTOP "newsman" covering the march announced that the vast majority of Americans support the war.
